Apple continues to expand on its series of iPhone photography tutorials after launching the project earlier this month. Titled "How to Shoot on iPhone 7", the series features 40-second instructional videos highlighting the capabilities of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus cameras.

Hot on the heels of Amazon's Alexa coming to iOS, Siri has more competition in the voice assistant department. The Google Assistant can now be installed as a stand alone app on the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. While the Google Search app for iOS includes voice capabilities, the full-blown Google Assistant is more sophisticated and powerful.

There's no shortage of PDF apps on the App Store. PDF converters, readers, editors, the list goes on and on. Many of these are not necessary since Apple has included a powerful PDF converter directly into iOS 10 and later. This means the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch can convert almost any web page, email or document into a PDF file for saving or sharing.

iPhone and iPad users can now access the Alexa voice assistant on their iOS devices free of charge. The official Amazon shopping app previously supported voice queries, but now the company is rolling out Alexa within the app. Besides offering help with shopping, the in-app version of Alexa delivers almost all of the capabilities of Amazon's speaker devices such as the Echo, Dot and Tap.

It may come as no surprise, but every Apple TV shows up as "Apple TV" by default once installed on a home network. This means when using AirPlay or Home Sharing, this name appears next to an Apple TV icon. For those with multiple Apple TV units or anyone who would prefer to customize the name of their device, tvOS provides an option to change its network name. Once the custom name has been configured, the new name will appear next to the Apple TV icon when connecting from an iPhone or Mac.
